Hi..i would try hand cleaner like the mechanics use. It is cheap and can be bought at Walmart or Canadian tire. Rub it on, let sit for a half hour, then wipe repeatedly with a damp cloth. I use it for all kinds of stains.Nail polish remover on gold and diamonds?
I know that it probably wouldn't hurt your diamonds. Taking it to the jewelry store may be expensive, but it's worth it.
I wouldn't risk it, take it to a jewelry store, they will be able to help you
